Another drive out to the desert to meet-up with old friends and make new ones. Upon entering the campground check-in I was blown away by the small lines to get through security. I\u2019ve been in that line for up to three hours before nut this year from the time we got on the campground site to our new home for the net four days, maybe took us about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>There is always that unsure feeling not knowing who your \u201cneighbors\u201d will be for the next four days but we got pretty lucky with a group from San Diego which included a DJ and a scientists, a group of drag queens and a couple college buddies from Arizona.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6822.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-126595\" src=\"https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6822-1024x345.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"345\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6822.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6822-300x101.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6822-768x259.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6880.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-126598 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6880-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6880-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6880-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.festivalhopper.de\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Coachella2019_6880.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Had an opportunity to see <strong>Chvrches<\/strong> for less than $10 at <strong>Papp and Harriet\u2019s<\/strong> in<strong> Pioneer Town<\/strong> on Thursday night but the logistics with travel didn\u2019t work out due to the \u201cin &amp; out\u201d policies of The Empire Polo Ground. Stay on top of Papp and Harriet\u2019s calendar. It\u2019s a small venue but has plenty impressive acts over the years leading up to Coachella or the week between weekends one and two. It is held at the <strong>\u201cSilent Disco\u201d<\/strong> close to the food court, general store area at approximately 6:00-7:00 PM. Groups of approximately 10-15 people are let in and given three minutes to fill a gift bag with as much overstocked clothes and merchandise from previous years, all for only $20!!! The line can be long but it does move at a decent pace, it\u2019s definitely worth it and if you go to Coachella consistent enough it changes your relationship with the new merchandise sold each year at the main merchandise tents. Have to admire the over produced, highly organized K-POP machine.<br \/>\nJanelle Monae,- solid set, strong woman, knows her space in music.<br \/>\n<strong>Childish Gambino<\/strong> &#8211; admittedly didn\u2019t know much aside from I liked Donald Glover in \u201cCommunity\u201d and as Lando in the Han Solo movie and the press from \u201cThis Is America.\u201d He is a legit talent who I encourage everyone to kick the tires on him. It\u2019s a shell of what it is in from 5:00 PM on. You can possibly see a mic-check (Sia from a few years ago was pretty cool). You can also see acts playing in front 8-10 people which is a very<br \/>\ndifferent experience.<br \/>\n<strong>ARIZONA<\/strong>&#8211; up and coming, pretty good set. Definitely will see a lot of them in the coming years.<br \/>\n<strong>Bob Moses<\/strong>&#8211; festival regular, deserving of good time slots, worth your time. Sad to see the longest lines all weekend was for his<br \/>\n\u201cChurch Merch\u201d stand to get $70 shirts, $260 sweatshirts and $50 socks. If<br \/>\nyou saw his band playing their hour long instrumental at a food court in the<br \/>\nmall you wouldn\u2019t even stop on your way to \u201cHot Dog On A Stick.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Alice Merton<\/strong>&#8211; great energy, good show.<br \/>\nDennis Lloyd- dude has some serious swag and talent to go with it. His performance ending cover of \u201cHit me baby one more time\u201d was pretty<br \/>\ndamn cool.<br \/>\n<strong>Lizzo<\/strong>&#8211; this is her time, show was a giant party. One of<br \/>\nthe best shows of the weekend.<br \/>\n<strong>Chvrches<\/strong>&#8211; best set of the weekend, don\u2019t know how they played in a smaller tent but had a great spot so who cares. One more good album and they deserve to headline any large festival.<br \/>\n<strong>Ariana Grande<\/strong>&#8211; didn\u2019t meet a single person all weekend who was excited to see her. Sat on the grass eating paella catching up with an old friend from past Coachella.
